Hello to all

I created a ThingTemplate with some properties, one of these properties is datetime type (see figure below)

Why when I create a new thing and join ThingTemplate this property pops up automatically with the creation date of the thing?

is there a way to leave it empty and populate it later?

sorry but so at the moment there is no way to set a DateTime property with null default value?

Correct.

I find this annoying too. For the moment, you could use the ”has default value” option and set it to some arbitary value like 1970-01-01 00:00:00.000.
