Creo Drawing - Replace Primary Content

Version: Windchill 11.1

Use Case: Replace the primary content of an existing creo drawing object with another .drw file

Description:

Is it possible to replace the primary content of a creo drawing object with another .drw file? We have drawing objects which just contain a pdf in WC11 but need the primary content replaced with actual CAD data from WC10.

The only other options I have at the moment is overwriting the current object in WC11 or renaming the object from WC10 so there is no naming conflict. Neither have a desirable outcome as I don't want to lose the current history of the WC11 object and I also don't want to create similar duplicates

Yes, this is possible via the workspace. What you need to do is check out the dummy drawing then retrieve the real drawing from outside the workspace (from a folder), open in Creo and save. It will overwrite the content  in the dummy drawing and you can check it in. I might also be possible to macro script this. How many do you have?

Thanks mate this worked a treat. Appreciate the offer for the macro but the quantity wouldn't justify it
